Canada’s Dog Ban: Click here to find out how you can help.

Ricki has been a treasured volunteer for over 15 years. We first met Ricki at the Bala Cranberry Festival many years ago when she visited our booth and offered to help, which she did the very next day. And she has been volunteering ever since. In fact, she has been the event coordinator for the Bala Cranberry Festival for several years (rain or shine) and has done an amazing job. Kiymetli #2806 (from Istanbul), Gameela #4890 (from Cairo), and Molly #4567 are her and husband Chris’ three precious rescues. Ricki has actually been to Cairo to bring some Goldens to safety. She helps with transports including delivering auction items, worked on the foster onboarding team, does home visits and emergency fostering, and volunteers at other events including the GR picnic. As an elementary school teacher, Ricki has been able to introduce her young students to the world of rescue, which is so important to bring awareness to the youth. She has also organized Zoom events with the Barrie Public Library Children’s Programming to support awareness about responsible pet ownership and Golden Rescue. When Ricki retires, she intends to join and grow our education team to create more awareness at the grassroots level. Thank you, Ricki, for being the most wonderful Golden Ambassador.
