Canada’s Dog Ban: Click here to find out how you can help.

Hoyt and Donna are long-time Golden lovers. Ever since their first pup, Cali, came into their life, they were hooked. When they decided Cali needed a sibling, they discovered Golden Rescue and adopted their first rescue furball Beki #3007. Having been exposed to Golden Rescue, they appreciated the good work and wanted to help. They started with doing transports and became transport volunteers extraordinaire ~ sometimes transporting three Goldens a week. They threw themselves into helping wherever they could ~ selling lottery tickets, donating prizes, and supporting other initiatives. When their beloved Cali crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 13, they decided that fostering might help fill the big hole they felt in their hearts and home. They soon discovered that fostering not only helped them heal but it brought them so much joy. Beki was a superstar as a foster canine mentor. She also graciously shared her bed, toys, and family and friends with each new foster Golden. Hoyt and Donna keep a scrapbook with a paw-print of every Golden they have fostered and they admit that it’s sad when each foster leaves them; however, they feel great satisfaction and joy in being a part of a Golden’s second-chance journey. Thank you Hoyt, Donna, and Beki for all your care and compassion and for being Golden champions.
