Pieter Helmke
Pieter has been volunteering with Golden Rescue for almost 20 years. This dedicated volunteer fostered a pup named Bodon #910. Bodon was adopted; however, according to his new family, he was totally miserable with them. He was returned and Pieter fostered him once again. It became obvious that Boden wasn’t going to be happy without Pieter so they became a family ~a match made in heaven. Pieter is a transport volunteer extraordinaire and has transported so many Goldens. He says and we quote: ”I love driving and Bodon loved to come with me to help unfortunate Goldens travel to their new life”. Pieter is now 80 and says he will continue to drive for us until his eyes give out. We hope that’s a long way off.
