Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Oh…hi everybody.  I was just listening to my favourite song that I sing to myself every morning.  I just can’t imagine it being written by a cat!!!  I just love mornings and I can’t wait to ‘spring’ up to start a new day.  My name is Jessie and I’m the luckiest 6-year-old girl around.  When I was young, I was given to Golden Rescue at a year old and was adopted by a lovely lady.  Unfortunately, she has recently fallen ill and can’t look after me anymore so GR took me back and I’m currently with my fantastic foster family.  How lucky am I to have GR keeping an eye on me like that?  That’s one of the many reasons why I love my life and I particularly love mornings to see what adventures life has in store for me each day.  I did live with my sister Golden and I could get jealous and pushy for attention at times.  So, my foster parents think I would be best in a home with no other dogs.  Don’t get me wrong…I love other dogs.  It’s just that if I live with one, I hog all the attention.  I love life and I love humans.  I’m healthy although I do have a heart murmur but the doc doesn’t seem to be concerned so neither am I.  I could use some dental work down the road.  I am on a diet and have already lost three pounds but I’m told another pound or two would be good for me.  I’m not a big barker and gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere.  I do have some guarding issues around my toys but I’m working on that.  Perhaps my favourite thing to do is chase leaves.  I just love it when they get blown around.  I particularly love maple leaves because they are big, red, and wide.  Oak leaves are brown and a little thinner and harder to catch and don’t even get me started on those skinny weeping willow leaves ~ they’re not like leaves at all.  My foster dad says if I were a human, I’d be an arborist.  I thought arborist is what kitchen counters were made of and I sure like those because you can always find yummy things on them.  My foster mom describes me as a very good girl with a shining personality.  What a lovely thing to say!  My GR friends are all so nice ~ what a lucky girl I am.

Jessie is currently being fostered in the Ajax, ON area. If you would like more information about Jessie please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
