#2748 Cobi
Gender: female
We rescued Cobi in March 2018 at six years of age. She came from an awful puppy mill. She needed to be spayed and to have 10 teeth extracted and two very infected ears treated. This little girl was afraid of everything including herself and she did not know how to live in the human world. In the beginning, we had to hand-feed her, lift her to go outside or for a walk. Toys and treats were of no interest, new sounds were frightening, and we weren’t sure if she had a tail because it was always tucked under her. Laying on her bed in a dark room was her haven. Cobi has come leaps and bounds since then. Today, it’s still somewhat of a challenge to get her to go outside or for walks ~ she is better and we can live with that. Food has now become somewhat of a motivator which helps. She now wants to be in the same room that we’re in. Although this is probably as good as it’s going to get, it’s a huge improvement from six years ago and we’re so happy she is our ‘special little girl’. We’ve learned a lot from Cobi ~ that with patience, trust, and lots of love, you can overcome everything. We can’t thank Golden Rescue enough for what they do for Goldens in need and especially for allowing us to be Cobi’s parents. There will always be a special place in our hearts where Cobi will live forever.
