2853 Payton

ID #: 2853 Age: 4 yrs Gender: female Status: pending

Hi everyone…my name is Payton and I’m a four-year-old girl.  When I met the good folks at Golden Rescue, I was a very fearful skinny Minnie with eight broken teeth.  I had never really been walked on a leash before so that was a whole new thing.  I also never knew what human affection felt like, so feeling the love from my amazing foster family was a new experience for me.  Now?  I simply can’t get enough!  In fact, there is a great song from ‘The Greatest Showman’ which describes my love for affection. It goes like this:

Towers of gold are still too little

Your hands could touch me but it’ll never be enough

Never be enough for me

Never…never…never enough for me.

I think I was what was called a puppy mill breeder, which is a terrible life; however, in this beautiful new life I’ve found, I crave affection and my foster family is sure giving it to me and I love it.  I’m also learning a lot.  I’ve never played before so that is a new experience for me and I don’t quite get the toy thing yet.  I am learning my commands but I’m hard of hearing so most of what I’m learning is visual but don’t worry, I’m getting the hang of everything just fine and I can hear about 30%.  I can’t really be left to run free because my recall isn’t good…not because I want to run away ~ it’s just because I can’t hear you if you call from a distance.  I love my car rides.  I love this new experience of walking and that playing thing is kind of cool.  I’m not a big barker, loud noises don’t bother me (duh), and you can touch me anywhere.  Please touch me anywhere in fact…a LOT!  I can be reserved when I meet someone new but generally I love people.  Other dogs are fine with me although my foster mom is suggesting I be the only dog in the house for now.  My back legs look a little wonky but the doc says there’s nothing particularly wrong with them and it sure doesn’t stop me from running.  My foster mom says I’m a really good girl and would make anyone a true ‘best friend’.  Might that be you?

Payton is currently being fostered in the Mississauga, ON area. If you would like more information about Payton please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
