#3075 Rusty

ID #: 3075 Age: 8 months Gender: male Status: available

Hi everybody…my name is Rusty and I’m a six-month-old pup.  I am still in my ‘terrible chews’ but my amazing foster mom says “this too shall pass but hurry up pleeease”.  I know, I know…it can be annoying but for now I can’t seem to help myself.  If I see it and it looks chewable, then I simply go for it.  Other than that, I’m told I’m adorable.  I’m learning my commands and I’m getting the hang of the leash thing so people are saying I’m progressing pretty well for a puppy.  I do have one big issue though.  I have a thing called ‘hip dysplasia’.  It’s not stopping me from running around and having a good walk, so at a glance, you wouldn’t know there was anything wrong.  However, I can’t navigate stairs or jump into the car.  I’m on a thing called Metacam, which really helps but when I get older, I will likely need an operation.  Yikes, I hear that the operation is very expensive so GR told me I’m going to need a very special Golden angel to adopt me.  I feel terrible about this because all I want is to be a part of a loving family and I sure don’t want to be a burden.  I hate the idea that someone will have to pay a whole bunch of bones, but it looks like this is what life has dealt me ~ drat!  On a brighter note, I love people and children.  I’m okay with dogs but I can be timid so I need more socialization but I’m not aggressive, just cautious.  I’m not a big barker.  Loud noises don’t bother me although I don’t love the vacuum.  I can be left alone if you have to go out but you might want to remove anything chewable except treats of course.  Well, that’s about it for me.  I’m going to have a nap in the sun now and dream about my angel who might adopt me.

Rusty is currently being fostered in the Holland Landing, ON area. If you would like more information about Rusty please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email adoption@goldenrescue.ca and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
