#3285 Loki

ID #: 3285 Age: 4 yrs Gender: female Status: Pending

Hi everyone ~ my name is Loki and I’m a four-year-old girl.  My amazing foster mom calls me Pumpkin for some reason but I actually like it.  I do love her and follow her wherever she goes.  She was my saviour and with her help and the good people at GR, I am getting more confident every day.  You see, when I first came into the GR program, I didn’t know what was happening and I was very afraid.  I suffered badly from a thing called ‘separation anxiety’ but that is getting better every day.  I still have it but it is improving and I feel good about that.  I am also a little afraid of meeting new people…and kids particularly scare me so I sometimes hide behind my mom’s legs when I meet a new person.  That is getting better as well but you would have to be patient with me.  Once I get to know people, I’m fine…I’m just initially timid.  Having said that, I do love people and I have been described as a real cuddler…full of love and affection.  I love other dogs and currently have a foster brother I adore and we’re great together and I’m really enjoying playing with him in the backyard.  So, to help me with my timidity and separation anxiety, there are three things that are critical for me ~ a secure backyard, a canine buddy, and not being left alone for too long.  I know some of my commands like ‘come’ and ‘sit’ and I’m actually good on the leash unless I encounter something really interesting…then I do tend to pull but a gentle leader is good for that.  The doc says I’m healthy.  I am a little nervous of loud noises initially but the vacuum doesn’t bother me.  I’m gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere and I especially love belly rubs and car rides.  Well, that’s me in a nut-shell.  I’m getting more confident because I understand there are lots of people out there who only want the best for me ~ thank you all for making me feel safe and wanted.  Would you consider adopting me?  I am not on Twitter but I will promise to loyally follow you.

Loki is currently being fostered in the Toronto, ON area. If you would like more information about Loki please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
