ID #: 3496 Age: 1 year Gender: male Status: Adopted

Hiya…my name is Winston and I’m still a pup ~ one year old actually.  I was named after that famous man, Winston Churchill.  He was really smart…just like me (heehee).  He was the one who said, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few”.  That could have been written about Golden Rescue.  These rescue angels have helped so many of my cousins get a second chance ~ it’s incredible the good work they do.  They saved me, healed me, educated me, and got me ready for my new forever family.  I was a bit too enthusiastic for my own good.  I would get too excited and jump up on people.  I still do that from time to time but I’m learning to control myself more, so to continue my education, I need a strong and consistent leader.  As my namesake once said, “Personally, I’m always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught.”  I suspect I will always be enthusiastic and full of life so if you want a jogging or exercise partner, I’m your boy.  I love people and other dogs but I tend to play a little rough, so I’m better with other enthusiastic dogs who can handle me.  Timid dogs would be overwhelmed by me, so I should either be in a home with no other dogs or with a dog who can keep up with me.  Because of my zest for life, a secure yard is an absolute must and best not to have any young kids or cats.  I love being petted and you can touch me anywhere.  I am gentle with my treats and you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me.  I am not a big barker but if I need something, I will certainly let you know.  I don’t love loud noises but they don’t scare me either.  I love my car rides, my walks, playing fetch, rolling on my back and, oh yes, cuddling is also really good.  The doc says I’m healthy and my wonderful foster dad says I’m a pretty handsome dude (see my pic).  Well, that’s about it for me other than to say thank you to Golden Rescue for all you’ve done for me, especially all that education.  As Churchill wisely once said, “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”  Yours, as enthusiastically as ever, Winston!

Winston is currently being fostered in the Newmarket, ON area. If you would like more information about Winston please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
