  • A sweet & gentle girl
  • Has separation anxiety so someone home most of the time is crucial
  • Short walks & backyard play is all she needs
  • May do well with another calm, older dog (not cat tested)

Happy September! My name is Stella and I’m an 8-year-old girl. The good people at Golden Rescue are taking good care of me and I’m SO grateful. You see, I had a bad leg which the doc operated on and now I have recovered and my leg is great. I also suffered from anxiety and separation anxiety and I went to a lovely trainer who helped me with my confidence and my anxiety is improving. I still don’t like being left alone so someone who is home most of the time would certainly be best for me. GR says I just need some consistency, patience, and love in my life and they believe my anxiety will continue to dissipate (clever word for me to use, eh?). I do have a little heart valve issue but it’s fine with the medication I’m on, so the doc isn’t worried about it at all. I’m a laid-back girl. I don’t need a ton of exercise ~ a few short walks and some time in the backyard playing fetch and I’m a happy girl. I have really good recall and I’m also pretty good on the leash except that I do bark when I see people or other dogs. You can certainly touch me anywhere and I’m very gentle with my treats. Loud noises don’t bother me and I love just hanging out with my family close by. Yes, I still get anxious so it is crucial that someone is home most of the time. Maybe my family could be a bit older, just like me, so we could hang out together calmly watching the world go by.
All I want is a room somewhere
Far away from the cold night air
And one enormous chair
Oh wouldn’t that be loverly!
I hope someone out there wants me! I know I have my foibles but I really am a good girl.
