Hello everyone…my name is Lucy and I’m four years old. I come from a far-off place called Cairo where my Egyptian rescuers found me on the street suffering from a serious stomach infection and a fractured hip. I was not a pretty sight but these street angels did everything they could for me. To give me the best chance for survival, they sent me to Canada hoping I could get the care I needed and I certainly got it. My tummy is good again and my hip is healing beautifully. The doc here says I’m doing exceptionally well. I’m pretty happy about that! I still need some therapy and to do my exercises but other than that I’m a healthy girl. I am small ~ only 40 lbs. and I’ve got a little something else in me so I’m not pure gold (teehee). I love people and other dogs although I’m a little timid until I get to know you and feel safe. I’m even fine with cats. I have learned your Canadian ways and am pretty good with my commands. I’m even pretty good on that leash thing and I can be left alone if you have to go out without me. I’m gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere, except for my back end, of course, which is still sensitive from my operation. Thank you, Golden Rescue and my amazing foster family, for taking such good care of me. I am one very grateful new Canadian.
