Hi everyone, my name is Tulip and I’m two years old. I just love my name ~ it’s so pretty and colourful (and my foster dad says that just like me). I have a lot of energy and a lust for life. Everything excites me and I have been described as a bit of an energizer bunny. Having said that, I’m young so that’s normal plus much of your human world is new to me. I do love people and am very playful. Other dogs are a hit-or-miss thing. Some dogs I love and will happily play with for hours. Others I growly towards. My amazing foster family believes I just need more socialization training and, given time and patience, this behaviour will even out. They also believe I need a strong leader to show me the ropes and make me feel safe. I agree with that as I respond well to strength, confidence, and kindness. I love to be touched, cuddled, and made a fuss over. The doc says I’m healthy except my stomach can be a bit tricky at times depending on what I’ve eaten. I do have a thing called ‘separation anxiety’ so if you have to leave me alone, I have a special crate that seems to work but not leaving me alone is even better (teehee). Like a lot of Goldens, I have a high prey drive so if I see a squirrel on our walks, you need to hold on as I will want to chase them for sure. If there are no critters around, I actually walk well on the leash. Because of this, a fenced yard is critical and no cats please. I love my car rides and I love to play. I know I have a lot to learn but I’m sure with patience and consistency I will figure out the rest. Overall, I am a loveable girl (honest!) so I would really appreciate a chance to be a part of your wonderful family.

Tulip is currently being fostered north of Toronto, ON area. If you would like more information about Tulip call our hotline toll-free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
