Hi everyone in Canada-land ~ my name is Odin and I’m writing to you from Cairo. I’m a 6-year-old blind boy and I knows how to get around just fine. I know you guys worry about us blind kids, but to be quite honest, I’ve been blind for so long that to me it’s normal. Of course, it takes me a little while to get to know new surroundings but I’ve never walked into a wall or got into any trouble when things are in my way. I even walk well on a leash, believe it or not. When you’re blind, you get a different sense of things and in some ways, we have a more sensitive antennae to the world’s dangers than some of our sighted cousins. My wonderful rescuers here in Cairo describe me as a beautiful, sweet, gentle, friendly, sociable boy. Well, that’s sure nice to hear. Oh, by the way, I speak English so I know how kind those words are. I love people, other dogs, and cats too. One of my favourite things is to sit beside you and get petted as I have not had enough of that in my life. I love spending time outdoors and I hear Canada can get cold but I must say it sure sounds a lot better than the 50-degree temperatures we’re about to get. Well, that’s about it for me. I’m told I’m heading for Canada soon so I hope to ‘see’ you there. That was a little blind humour (haha)!

Odin will be arriving in Canada soon. If you would like more information about Odin, please call our hot-line toll-free at 1-866-712-8444 or email adoption@goldenrescue.ca and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
