  • Very shy girl who needs nurturing and patience
  • Another easy-going family dog would be nice
  • Secure yard with someone home most of the time would be preferable

Hi everyone…I’m writing to you from Cairo. My name is Shie and my nickname is Shy-Shie. I grew up outside tied to a balcony, so I know very little about your world and, what I do know about, scares me. I do have to admit my wonderful rescuers are making me feel safer every day so they think it will just take me time to adapt to your world. Their opinion is that I will have a miserable life in the shelter and that I need to be with a forever family that will be patient and home most of the time, who can show me consistent love and care so I can come out of my shell, and who have a secure fenced yard. I am great with other dogs (so having another dog in the family might be calming for me) and I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body…so I think that’s a good start, right? As for cats, we have no idea as I’ve never been exposed to them…in fact, I don’t even know what a ’cat’ is. My rescuers are thinking it would be best if I found my forever family in your amazing country. That seems unimaginable to me but I trust them enough to go along with their decision. I’m a healthy girl, only around a year old, and I’m told I have no behavioural issues…whatever that means. I’ve not got much more to say because my life experience is so limited; however, secretly I am hoping someone in Canada will give me a chance ~ paws crossed.

Shie will be arriving in Canada soon. If you would like more information about Shie, please call our hot-line toll-free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
