Oh, hello everyone, sorry about that. I was just singing along to my favourite song. As you might have already guessed, my name is Earl…the Duke of Earl. You know, usually when you are a Duke of somewhere, that’s in the name so Earl must have been a place at one point. Now I was found in a mining town on the Black Sea in Turkey, called Zonguldak. So, technically I am the Duke of Zonguldak but I prefer the Duke of Earl (heehee). Now let me get to the crux of my writing to you. My wonderful rescuers here in Istanbul want to send me to Canada to find a forever family. I can’t believe it, but it’s true. They’ve even got me a passport and they have already packed my favourite blanket so, Canada, here I come. I took a peek at my passport and there’s a letter of introduction in there that says: This is Earl, a nine-to-ten-year-old sweet, happy, contented Golden who is gentle and affectionate. He is pretty much a perfect boy and he loves people, children, and all dogs. Now, maybe I wasn’t supposed to read this but does it ever make me sound great. If I were you, after reading that description, I’d adopt me in a heartbeat, yes? I promise I will live up to that description if you give me a chance to join your wonderful Canadian family. Until then, this is the Duke of Earl signing off. Duke, Duke, Duke…I know I’ll stop now.
