Molly #4157

Gender: female

Status: Adopted

Molly (aka Muffet) arrived from Cairo with 50 other Goldens. It was an incredible sight at the cargo terminal seeing these beauties come down the ramp one by one. Molly wasn’t interested in me, just the other dogs, and she was obviously anxious. After she calmed a bit, I got her into the car where she was restless but she eventually settled and fell asleep. When we got home, she sniffed everything in the backyard particularly and it became obvious that she was used to being in a house but not stairs. Eventually she went onto her dog bed in my bedroom and slept for hours. Late in the night, I felt her get up on the foot of the bed and she has slept there at night ever since. The next day it was time for a big grooming, brushing all the dead ticks from her body and giving her a bath. She looked so much better after that although her hair needed growing in and her tail was like a stick. From then on, she became my velcro girl and followed me wherever I went. Walking her was the biggest challenge as she would freeze at the end of the driveway terrified of what lay ahead. It took many months to get her over that fear but now she happily walks around the neighbourhood saying hello to everyone she meets. Everyone loves her and says how pretty she is as her hair has filled in and her tail is no longer a stick. Molly has come such a long way since she arrived in Canada. She is such a sweet and gentle soul. She loves water and snow and she loves her new life. And I love her to bits. Thank you for letting us find each other.
