This is the story of Gulliver’s Travels and I’m Gulliver. Just like the story, I came to Canada on a fantasy adventure and I’m still pinching myself that this is ‘real’ as it sure feels like I’ve arrived in a Wonderland called Canada. I’m 2 years old and I came from a faraway place called Cairo where I wasn’t treated very well. It was pretty bad over there and someone threw some acid on me because they wanted me to go away. I had no idea that my future would be bright as you Canadians are so kind and loving. My fantastic foster family have nursed me back to health and helped me get better about being nervous and trusting people. I am an energetic boy who loves my walks, car rides and running around in my big fenced yard but I’m not a big fan of small dogs or cats and since I can be a bit bouncy, best not to be around young children. I do still need some more training but my foster family says I’m really smart so with some patience and consistency, they are sure I will become a wonderful, goofy Golden. They say I already have the goofy part down pat. As scary as this sounds to me, I am really looking forward to having a forever family. The doc says I’m healthy except for some digestive issues if I get too anxious but being on the right food has helped a lot. I am gentle with my treats, you can touch me anywhere and you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. My fosters believe I need to go to an active family with a big fenced backyard. So, what do I think? Whatever Golden Rescue thinks I need, I’ll go along with as you guys are amazing and I trust your judgment. So, here I go into the next phase of this wonderful adventure. I’m ready if you are!
