Happy Thanksgiving my Canadian friends! My name is Buzz, I’m 2 years old, and I have a lot to be thankful for. When I first met the good people at Golden Rescue, I was very timid and fearful. Where I came from (Egypt), many people weren’t very nice to me and I had a very rough go of it, until the wonderful shelter folks found me. It has taken me a bit of time but I now realize you Canadians are fantastic, especially my foster family, who are simply wonderful. They love me to bits and I am just not used to that…but boy does it ever feel good. They are teaching me all your ways and I’m told I’m doing pretty well. I’m even getting the hang of the leash thingy… unless I see a squirrel and then, well, hang on! I am starting to learn how to play with other dogs. I was at the dog park the other day and met a friend and we played for a half an hour. It was so much fun. I’m even learning about toys. I’ve never had any toys so I didn’t understand their purpose. My foster dad describes me as gentle, obedient, and smart. I love all the people I have met here…young and old. I’m timid around other dogs but not aggressive. I just need some time to socialize so I might be okay with a gentle, laid-back dog in your family…otherwise I might be best as the only dog in the family for now. I love my walks and car rides. I love to be petted. Loud noises don’t bother me and the doc says I’m healthy. If you give me a little more time to adjust, I promise to be the best Golden you’ve ever known.
