Hi everyone…my name is Skye and I’m a 3-year-old girl. When I first came into the GR program, I was nervous, cautious, and a bit sad as I missed my family. It didn’t take me long, however, to understand that the good people at GR, especially my marvelous foster family, only wanted the best for me and I started to settle pretty quickly. Yes, it was a big change for me but us dogs can tell when we are safe and loved and I certainly am both. I was so lucky to also have two other Goldens in my new home to play with. This, for me, was fantastic. In fact, my foster mom believes I should to go to a home with another dog to keep me company and I agree. In my previous life, I was treated well and I learned all your human ways so I don’t need any more training. I know all my stuff really well. Maybe I could use a bit more leash training but that’s about it. I am not a big barker. Loud noises don’t bother me. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. I don’t like it, but you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. I’m very good in the vet’s office too and the doc gave me 100% on my test. Here is what my foster mom says about me: “Skye is an amazing girl and everyone she meets falls in love with her and she has a lot of love to give. Skye is calm, confident, sweet, polite, and curious. She quite literally has all the best qualities a Golden should have.” Wow, I really don’t know what to say but I am blushing and I can feel the love and kindness in my foster mom’s eyes when she talks about me. She does laugh and wink when she says that my only ‘bad’ quality is that I have a powerful and happy tail that can clear a coffee table in one pass (teehee).
