#4327 Joy

ID #: 4327 Age: 5 yrs Gender: female Status: Adopted
Hello…my name is Joy and I’m 5 years old. When I arrived into the GR program, I was very timid and scared and my foster mom used the word ‘traumatized’. That’s a very big word that I don’t understand. When I was getting spayed, there was a complication and I almost died and I went through a really rough time. GR and my foster family have helped me so much and I’ve improved tremendously. My training is going well but I still have a thing called ‘separation anxiety’, which we are working on but I still don’t like to be left alone. I look to my human for comfort in new situations and if they seem okay, then I’m okay. I am getting more confident every day. I am okay with other dogs but to be quite honest I just ignore most of them; however, I actually enjoy the company of a calm dog, so having another calm dog would be ideal for me. There are lots of good things about me…if you’re still reading my bio ~ I am a superstar on the leash. You can pet me to your heart’s delight (and mine). I am not a big barker, I’m gentle with my treats, and I can jump into the car easily. I like my walks but I don’t really need much exercise. I am simply content to just hang out. My lovely foster mom says I need to find a loving family who are home most of the time and they need to be patient to see me through my remaining anxieties. She says I’m a really good, precious girl who deserves a second chance at happiness. Might you be the person who brings ‘joy’ back to my life?
