Hi everybody my name is Jack and I’m around 6 years old. The wonderful people at GR brought me here from a faraway place called Cairo. I met a lovely Canadian family and it didn’t work out so I moved to my current foster family who are taking great care of me. You Canadians are amazing! I have been getting all the love and training I need to ready myself for my forever family and guess what? I’m ready! Wowzer-bowzer!!! I love people and other dogs but I’m not great with little kids. I love my walks but I also love hanging out on the couch. If you have lots of energy, so do I, as I’d be happy to go on several long walks/hikes each day. But in between, I also love to simply hang out. So, you see…I’m an adaptable boy, eh? I don’t like loud, unexpected noises like the vacuum cleaner or babies crying, but I can cope. You can touch me anywhere and I’m gentle with my treats. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me…I’m fine with my own company. The doc says I’m healthy although I’m working on adding a few pounds but I’m almost there. I am almost totally housetrained and I would counter-surf if given the opportunity. My philosophy is: If I can reach it, it’s mine. I’m learning not to but it makes sense from whence I came and the fact that I’m still a bit underweight. I know, I know…I don’t have to get to my perfect weight in one go! My lovely foster mom says, ”If you want a big, loving, drooling, happy doofus, then you couldn’t find any Golden better than our dear Jack.”
