Canada’s Dog Ban: Click here to find out how you can help.

ID #: 4376 Age: 1 yr Gender: female Status: Adopted

Hi everyone…my name is Shania and I’m around 1 year old. As you can see by my photo, I am not a Golden…not even close (teehee). So, how did I get into the GR program, you ask? Well, it’s a long story. The short version is that I was brought to Canada from Cairo with my Golden friend Dolly and it was thought we were, what you humans call, a bonded pair. It turns out we are not and it became obvious to GR that we would be better off separated. So, here I am…a Terrier-mix in a Golden Retriever world…bewildered but happy. Now, if you are reading this, you are probably a Golden Retriever lover so my task at getting you to love me is daunting but here it goes and I would ask you to share my post with anyone who loves little dogs. I am a good girl. See how cute I am! I am also a cuddle bunny who loves my walks and I’m even getting the hang of the leash thing. You can touch me anywhere and you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. I am gentle with my treats. According to the doc, I am healthy but I will need a thing you call ‘spaying’ soon. I love people and other dogs and here’s what my wonderful foster mom says about me: “Shania is a very easy and sweet girl who just wants to curl up with me when I’m watching TV or at my desk. She is a very happy girl who I am sure someone will enjoy as much as I have.” Might I curl up with you?

Shania is currently being fostered in the Milton, ON area.  If you would like more information about Shania please call our hot-line toll-free at 1-866-712-8444 or email adoption@goldenrescue.ca and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
