Cooper #4423

Gender: male

Status: Adopted

SuperDooperCooper is our fifth Golden from GR. He came with a long rap sheet ~11 of 10 on the energy scale, very aggressive with other dogs, 12 out of 10 on prey drive. But the first time we met, he ran right over and planted a big kiss so we were hooked. High energy…no problem. I’m high energy so it was a match made in heaven. Aggression with other dogs…we will never know what happened in his life to cause it but we’ve come up with a plan to deal with it. He is so easily distracted by food so all we have to do is wave a liver bite in front of him and he forgets why he was mad. Sniffing starts, tail starts wagging, and all is good. Once he’s made friends, he remembers going forward. As for his prey drive, it’s better not to be a rabbit or squirrel; however, we’re happy to report that he has the utmost respect for our invisible fence. Whoever gave up Cooper lost an absolute gem. He is the sweetest animal I have ever known and what he adds to our home cannot be measured.
