Hi everybody…my name is Taffy and I’m a 5-year-old girl. I came from a place you folks call a ‘puppy mill’ and I was in pretty bad shape and very timid when I first arrived. You all have been so kind and supportive of me, especially my amazing foster family and your vets. Everything was completely new to me so I needed a lot of patience and understanding as I tried to figure out all your human ways. I had never been in a house. I had never been in a car and getting into one is still a challenge. And to be quite honest, I had never experienced affection. Now, as much as I’m working on all my commands and am still timid, I’m getting better each and every day. My foster mom says I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body and I am absolutely true to my name which comes from the Welsh name Dafydd, which means ‘beloved’. She describes me as a beautiful, gentle soul. That makes me feel all squishy inside! And of course, taffy candy is sweet and she thinks that I’m sweet also but I think I was given that name because my life is now very sweet. I had an ear infection, which is all healed and I’ve been spayed…and the doc has given me 100% on my health test. I still need time in new situations to adjust but I do love people. I like other dogs too as long as they’re not pushy or aggressive, as that kind of behaviour scares me. My fosters think I would really benefit having another calm, friendly Golden in the family as well as a fenced yard where I could explore on my own. I am gentle with my treats and I’m not a big barker. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and you can certainly touch me anywhere. Well, that’s my story. Thank you, Golden Rescue, for believing in me. I plan to show you my appreciation every single day.
