Hi everybody…my name is Hendrix but you can call me Jimmy (heehee). Don’t worry, I can’t play the guitar because my paws are too big but I do love the attention my name gives me. I love attention so I guess if I was as famous as the real Jimmy was, I’d be idolized. I have to say, however, I sure feel idolized by all the amazing people I have met at GR…especially my fantastic foster mom. She has done so much for me. Prior to coming to GR, I had been attacked by another dog so my face was pretty beat up. It’s all healed now and you can hardly see the scar. The scar it has left, however, is my fear of dogs. You folks call it ‘fear aggression’. Now, I do live with another Golden right now so it’s not that I can’t get along with all dogs. It’s just that I’m wary and can be aggressive if another dog approaches me. I am told with training, socialization, patience, and love that this may change but for now I need to be away from other dogs as much as possible. I also have a high prey drive so cats wouldn’t be a good idea either. A secure yard is essential so I can run freely and not get into trouble. I’m a young boy ~ and the guesses are between 1 and 3 years old. I can’t help with this as I’m not very good at counting, unless it’s about cookies. If you have three cookies in your pocket and only give me two, I absolutely know you have one left. As much as I’m afraid of most dogs, I absolutely love all humans. I am a love bug who loves being with you and cuddling with you. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. I am not a big barker unless there is a confrontation with another dog. Loud noises don’t bother me. I don’t like being left alone but I don’t freak either. The doc says I’m a healthy boy. I absolutely love my walks. I love to run and I generally have a lot of puppy-like energy. My foster mom describes me as a ‘smart, well-mannered, loving, cuddle-bug’. I think she’s very kind!
