Hi everyone my name is Bailey and I’m a 6-year-old girl. When I was first rescued, I was in quite a state. I was a kind of ‘nobody’s child.’ I was smelly, very unkempt, long nails, matted fur, and had no possessions ~ not even a collar. I was from what you call a ‘backyard breeder’ so my experience with the kind Golden Rescue world was very limited. It didn’t take me long though to realize that my amazing foster family wanted the very best for me and they have showed me nothing but love and affection. Every day, I am getting more confident. I was pretty shy and uncomfortable when I first arrived but here is how my foster mom describes me now: “ Bailey had got her personality back and is now a happy girl who behaves like a typical Golden”. I am gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere and I loooove to be groomed. I am not a big barker and thunder doesn’t bother me although I don’t like beeping sounds ~ go figure. I am very good on the leash and generally speaking, I love to be where you are. I don’t like being left alone but I’m not destructive either. This will likely change as I get more confident and more comfortable with my new family. GR thinks it would be best if I found a family that is home most of the time. A fenced backyard would also be a great asset. The doc says I do have a little heart murmur but he’s not too concerned about it and other than that I’m healthy. My new life is simply wonderful and I have to thank everyone for all their love and care. I am one grateful and happy girl.
