Come again no more
Many days you have lingered around my cabin door
Oh, hard times come again no more!
All I’ve ever known, until now, were hard times. I was born into a puppy mill and never experienced human kindness or basic comforts until I met the wonderful people at Golden Rescue. My name is Violet and I’m 7 years old. From my photo, I look older but that’s due to those ‘hard times’. When I came into GR, my fur was badly matted. I had lesions all over my body, both ears were infected, and my teeth were in bad shape and I was basically shut down. My fantastic foster parents took care of all that and my lesions are gone, my fur is growing back, all the bad teeth have been taken out, and my ears are fine. Happiness is all around me and those hard times are behind me. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. My job now is to learn all your kind human ways. I am getting the house-training thing and I’m probably 70% there. I haven’t had any leash training yet because there was so much to do to get me to trust humans again. Don’t worry about that too much though as I realize there are so many kind people in the world and I love you all. I love all dogs, cats, and other critters (despite what the video shows! haha!)
I am gentle with my treats and you can touch me anywhere. I hardly ever bark. Loud noises don’t phase me and you can leave me alone for short periods of time…probably longer once I’m fully house-trained. I have a way to go to learn all my commands and everything else you expect from me but I will get there. I will not let you down because I’m loving and grateful. I’m pretty much a velcro-girl who loves and appreciates all you are doing for me. If you are simply patient with me, I will be the best Golden you have ever known. Thank you, Golden Rescue, for giving me a second chance at happiness.
