Scout #4497

Gender: male

Status: Adopted

When we lost our sweet Rosie, we knew it was only a matter of time before we welcomed another Golden into our home. We said we would wait one year before adopting again. We lasted six months. When we met our handsome Scout, he was so gentle and wonderful during walks on his leash (a huge thank you to his foster family). While his gentle spirit has endured, the ‘real’ Scout came out in no time. He is incredibly goofy (he does ‘trust falls’ where he sits up on his hind legs and if you don’t grab him, he flops straight back), loves to cuddle, demands head pats from every human he meets, and is never happier than when he is being brushed. He also has his challenges. His prey drive is off the charts, so our ravine-adjacent yard is a lush hunting ground. Scout also has severe anxiety issues. He panics when there is not a human within reach with destructive consequences. We have worked with trainers and our veterinarian to make Scout feel safe, something that may be a life-long journey, but one that is well worth it for his unconditional love.
