#4502 Abby

Gender: female
Fostering has been an integral part of our life for almost 14 years. Our first foster came to us in 2010. Other than the sheer joy of sharing our lives with over 30 fosters, the opportunity to meet other like-minded people and become friends has been a large motivation to continue. We have made friendships with people we’ve met through Golden Rescue and friends we’ve made who adopted our fosters. Abby #4502 has been our biggest challenge, but most importantly, our biggest reward. We witnessed a terrified, breeding female enter the GR program having lived her entire life in a barn. She was afraid to enter a building through a doorway, afraid to walk on grass, afraid to eat food from a bowl, afraid of stairs, afraid of anything outside her confined environment such as a breeze or a falling leaf. She has become the beautiful girl she is today and the transformation has been heartwarming. Within five months, her bravery has helped her overcome her fears to become a confident, happy Golden. We are so proud of her and we know there are more ‘Abbys’ who need our help. We are so happy that we were able to be part of her journey.
