Frankie and Johnny were sweethearts
Oh, what a couple in love
Frankie was loyal to Johnny
Just as true as the stars above
He was her man, but he done her wrong…

What, what??? Johnny would never do anything wrong to me. He is fantastic and we love each other. I love that song but they keep getting the story WRONG!!! Every time I hear that last line, I get mad so I will have to shake it off…so wait a second, please! There, I am okay now! Let me introduce us! My name is Frankie and I am a 10-month-old girl. This is my best friend and sweetheart, Johnny, who is around the same age. We have been together for as long as I can remember and we look out for each other, which was very important to us as our previous life was less than kind. When we were found (in a ditch incidentally), we were timid, skittish, and skinny but when we came in GR’s care, we realized how fantastic people could be and we slowly started to trust humans again. It seems to us that not everyone in your world is as kind, loving, and special as all you Golden Rescue folks. We especially love our amazing foster family. They are showing us the ropes and making us feel safe and loved and it is such a joy!

To know, know, know them
Is to love, love, love them
Just to see them smile
Makes our life worthwhile…

Sorry about that. I just broke into song spontaneously. Pretty big word for a young pup, right? It is funny…people say to me: “I didn’t know Goldens could sing.” I say back: “Does that mean you knew we could talk?” Stuns them every time! There are a lot of things about us that you do not know as we all have our secrets, right? Let me tell you a little bit about us. We are what you call a ‘bonded pair’ meaning that we want to go to a forever family together. We are both very loving and still a bit timid, although I’m timider than Johnny. We are mostly fine with other dogs. We have both been spayed/neutered recently so Johnny should calm down. We are both gentle with our treats and we both love to be touched anywhere. We don’t pull on the leash but we’re not used to long walks either so that’s a work-in-progress as is getting in and out of the car. Our foster mom has no doubt we’ll get the hang of all this ~ you just need to be patient. The doc says we are both healthy so she gave us 100% on our test. We’re not big barkers unless we hear other dogs bark, then we might join in. We don’t like loud noises when we’re inside the house but if you take us outside, we seem to settle. You can leave us alone for a few hours if you must but we’d benefit from a family where someone is home most of the time. A fenced yard is also crucial. Johnny still needs work on his socialization and we still need to learn some commands but foster mom says we’re smart so we’ll get there with love and patience. In the meantime, she says this about us, “Frankie and Johnny are very sweet and gentle Goldens and I love them very much.” We’re going to miss her but we’re also excited to join our forever family.
