Hi everyone in GoldenRescueLand…my name is Sawyer and I’m a 3 year old GIRL. I know, I know…Sawyer is typically a boy’s name but I like being different. Life has been good since I met the wonderful people at Golden Rescue, especially my amazing foster parents. I already had some training but they have really taken the time to teach me the rest. I’m even pretty good on the leash if you use a thing called a ‘halti’. I have a decent amount of energy and love my walks and running but, believe me, I’m just as happy cuddling beside you on the couch watching TV. My foster dad describes me as “so sweet, cuddly, and social”. Yes, I am a social girl who loves all you humans. That’s because I think you’re all the best. I’m okay with other dogs but for the most part I just ignore them. Maybe if I have more exposure and socialization, I would enjoy their company more ~ I just don’t have a lot of experience with my canine cousins. By the way, I’m fine with cats although I mostly ignore them too. I do have a few toys, like my rope, but my favourite by far is any stick. So, no need to buy me expensive toys ~ just find me a stick and I’m a happy girl. My favorite treats are apples, carrots, and bananas ~ all healthy foods that will help me keep my girlish figure. I am pretty gentle with my treats if you remind me. You can certainly touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t freak me out. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and I’m not a big barker. The doc says I’m a healthy girl and I certainly feel good. Everybody at GR has been so kind to me and I’ve been told I’m ready to find my forever family. Holy cow ~ that’s a little scary but exciting at the same time. So, if you’d like to meet me, I’d be happy to say hello. I’ll be the one in the back yard with a brand-new stick in my mouth.
