Hi everyone…my name is Samson and I’m a big healthy 2-year-old boy. The vet says I’m a handsome, healthy specimen of a Golden. That’s so nice to hear! I am now with my amazing foster dad who is showing me the ropes and there is quite a bit to learn. I’m getting the hang of the leash thing but I certainly need a harness which stops me somewhat from pulling. I absolutely love people so I’m anxious to please. I also love treats so according to my dad, that makes me very trainable. As much as I love all humans I’ve met, I don’t like all dogs I’ve met ~ some are fine and some not-so-much. I definitely need more socialization with other dogs so for now, I should be in a home with no other pets. In time, there is a belief that I will settle down with dogs but my socialization is certainly a work-in-progress. I love being touched and made a fuss over so pet me as much as you want because I’d absolutely love it. I haven’t been left alone lately but in my other life I used to use my crate when I was left alone with no issues. I am fairly gentle with my treats. I don’t love loud noises but I don’t freak either. I love my walks, my car rides, and playing but I’m not crazy energetic. Here’s what my lovely foster mom says about me: ”Samson will be an amazing member of the family without other pets in the home. He will be loving, loyal, and eager to please.” Thanks…that makes me sound pretty great (but obviously I’m not perfect…yet). There is only one thing I should tell you before I leave. I am a big strong boy but when I go the groomer and they cut my hair, I seem to lose all my strength ~ pretty weird, eh? (ha-ha)
