Hi everyone…my name is Lucky and I’m a one-year-old male who is still very much a puppy. I think my name describes me perfectly, especially since I arrived in Golden Rescue’s care. You see, my life has been a bit of a blur. When I was a young pup, I went to my forever home. Four months later, my new dad got sick so no one had any time for me anymore. It was pretty scary as I just didn’t understand what was happening. I was eventually surrendered to GR and they sent me to a wonderful teacher who helped me with my schooling, which had abruptly stopped in April. Then I was sent to my amazing foster family and this is where I am now. What a whirlwind! Today everything is great. I know that I am safe and loved so now I can concentrate on all that education I missed. For example, I’m a superstar on the leash and even know how to heel. I know ‘sit’ before I get my dinner and I have learned jumping up is not a good thing. I do still have some guarding issues but I’m working on ‘drop-it’ so don’t worry, I’ll figure that out as well. I am big and strong and have lots of puppy energy and my foster dad says I’m a real athlete and a joy to watch running so a fenced yard would be ideal so that I can run freely. You can touch me anywhere although my tail is a little sensitive. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and I’m not a big barker. I love humans and other dogs although I can get grumpy if they go after my toys so it would be best that I don’t go to a home with small children for now. I am not cat tested but I’m very interested in squirrels so cats are probably a no-go. The doc says I’m very healthy and most people think I’m a sweet, handsome dude who just needed a chance to be my best self. Well, GR has certainly given me that chance and I plan to show my thanks to everyone who has helped me by being the best Golden you will ever know because I feel SO grateful and so lucky (tee-hee).
