Hi…my name is Murphy and I’m 2 years old. I love the people at GR for many reasons. One, of course, is that they rescued me but the big one is because they rescued my 11 sons and daughters who were in a not-so-nice-place with me. All my boys and girls are now with safe, loving families and this papa is very proud and so grateful to everyone who helped my family. Now that I have also been rescued, I can get down to learning all your human ways. I absolutely love all people so I know I’m going to pick up everything you want me to learn. My amazing foster family is showing me the ropes and I’m starting to get the hang of things. That leash thing is a work-in-progress and because I’m pretty strong, you will need to be strong too. GR believes I need a family with a completely secure back yard because I am a flight risk. My need to escape will likely ease up as my obedience training and recall improve. In the meantime, my nickname seems to be Steve McQueen. It’s not that I want the ‘great escape’ because I don’t love my new life. I do love it…it’s just that I am curious about what’s on the other side of the fence ~ it’s called wanderlust. My foster mom describes me as smart, affectionate, and very sweet. Thanks mom…and wow! Here are all things I’ve already figured out to live happily in your human world: I am not a big barker. You can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. I am gentle with my treats. I don’t jump up. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and, other than an allergy to chicken, the doc says I’m a big healthy boy. I love my kong and can play with it for hours. I love car rides, my walks, and lots of exercise as I’m still a pretty active pup in many ways. I also love other dogs so if there is another dog in your family, that would be amazing. Well, that’s my story…and it’s time for my new chapter to be written. Might that be with you?
