Happy Thanksgiving everyone ~ my name is Winston and I’m 6 years old. I have a lot to be thankful for as I was found by the good people at Golden Rescue. I was pretty wary at first and didn’t make a sound as I wasn’t sure what was going on. It didn’t take me long to understand that everyone only wants the best for me, especially my amazing foster family. Pretty soon, I was snuggling my way into their hearts and they into mine. I’m a very laid-back boy ~ calm, cool, and collected. I hardly ever bark ~ never quite saw the point of all that fuss. I don’t need a lot of exercise but I do love my walks. So, if you’re a quiet, calm family, I might just fit in perfectly. I love people but I tend to ignore dogs. On my walks, I often freeze if I see another dog and occasionally, if they get too close, I can be snarly. My foster mom says I just don’t have experience with other dogs and need more socialization, time, and patience. In the meantime, keeping my distance on walks seems to work just fine. I am anxious to please and I love my treats so I’m pretty easy to train but I know most of my commands anyway…so worry not. You can touch me anywhere. I can be left alone if you have to go out without me. Loud noises don’t bother me and I’m actually pretty good on the leash. Other than a few broken bottom teeth, the doc says I’m a healthy boy. Here’s what my lovely foster mom says about me: “Winston is the sweetest boy ever ~ loving, calm, and affectionate. He is just a big love-bug who needs someone who will adore him and make him the centre of their world.” What lovely words ~ thank you so much for looking after me so well and for finding me.
