Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said I will fix your rack if you take Jack my dog
I said Wait a minute Chester, you know I’m a peaceful man
He said That’s okay boy won’t you feed him when you can
Take a load off Fanny…

So, what I want to know is am I (Chester) getting fed or is it this interloper Jack? And by the way, who the heck is Fanny? Oh…sorry everyone. Every time I listen to The Band singing this song, I get so confused. It’s like the first day I met the good people at Golden Rescue. They were all so nice but I just didn’t understand what was going on. I now get that everyone was preparing me to find my forever family. As you might have guessed by now, my name is Chester but to be quite honest, if I’m the one not getting fed, please feel free to call me Jack. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am 5 years old and my foster dad describes me as a happy, playful, affectionate boy and I think he’s spot-on. I love people, all people; however, my socialization with other dogs is a work-in-progress. Not that I am aggressive…I’m not. I’m just inexperienced. I get along just fine with some dogs. Others make me nervous and I’m not sure what to do. My foster dad/guru believes this will even out as I get a little older. So, you will need to be patient with me in the socialization department and my dad also says it might be good if you’re an experienced dog owner to help me along in this final stage of my education. Apart from that, I am gentle with my treats. Loud noises don’t bother me. I’m pretty good on the leash already. You can touch me anywhere, although I am young and energetic so it might be good to keep me away from young children at least for now. Other than an occasional food allergy, the doc says I’m a healthy boy. That’s about all I can tell you about my young, inexperienced life. I do hope to see you soon and by the way, if you see Jack, tell him that the food’s mine (heehee)!
