Hi everyone…my name is Pickles and I’m a 7-year-old girl. When I came to Golden Rescue, I was very overweight and had a bad ear infection. Despite that, I bounded into my new foster home with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. My amazing foster mom took me under her wing and I started to lose weight and my ear was taken care of quickly. I have already lost ten pounds ~ woohoo! I still need to lose more weight but my energy level is improving and I can walk further every day. Speaking of walking, I am really good on the leash…unless I see a squirrel. I have to admit I am squirrel obsessed and yet I am totally fine with cats ~ go figure! My foster mom describes me as a happy, loving mush-ball with a big frame and a big heart to match. I love all humans and I know your human ways and what is expected of me. So, I might take up a little more space than most Goldens but I am what you call ‘easy’. For example, I hardly ever bark. I am gentle with my treats. You can certainly touch me anywhere. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and other than this ear thing, the doc says I’m a healthy girl. I am fine with other dogs ~ maybe a bit picky on those I choose to play with but the others I just ignore. I must admit that I have done so well here that I am ready to find my forever family. That scares me a little but it’s also exciting. I trust everyone at GR so if they believe I’m ready then I will not disagree. I hope to meet you soon!
