Hi everyone…my name is Max for short and I’m a year-and-a-half old. My previous dad passed away and I miss him very much. The good people at Golden Rescue took me in and I’m now living with a very kind family who are showing me the ropes. In my previous life, I didn’t get a lot of training or socializing so I do have some stuff I need to learn ~ like jumping up when I get excited or losing my ears when I’m called. Sometimes I think it’s a game and I can be a bit crazy running around forgetting my name when you call. Having said that, I have learned a lot already and my jumping up has already improved. A big secure back yard is crucial for me so I can run around and work on my recall. Now, don’t worry too much because I want to please so whatever you want me to learn, with a bit of love and patience, I’ll pick it up. For example, I’m already good on the leash thing. I am mostly fine with other dogs but I can get jealous if another dog is getting attention and I’m not. That’s probably because I was so used to being the center of attention and sharing is not something I learned to do. I just need more socializing. I do like sharing a home and having fun with other dogs but GR thinks that if you have another dog, you’ll have to closely monitor my behaviour for a while. Other than that, my lovely foster mom describes me as a gentle, loveable, cuddly boy who loves being included in all family adventures. A few other things I can tell you are that I’m not a big barker, I’m gentle with my treats, and you can touch me anywhere. Loud noises get my attention but they don’t bother me too much. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and the doc says I’m a big healthy boy. Well, that’s it for me. I hope to be home for Christmas???
