Hi everyone my name Hugo and I’m 2.5 years old. I came from the island of Antigua so everything in your wonderful country is new to me. For example, it is much cooler here, which I appreciate after being in sweltering heat. There is also lots of food here but the best thing of all are the people. The world I find myself in now is so kind and loving. I am an island dog, so by nature I’m a laid-back dude. When I first arrived, I was nervous so everything was a little scary. This nervousness is getting better every day and my trust is growing due to the affection and support I’m getting. I love my people and I just want to be close to them. I am living with two other Goldens but I just ignore them but I have no issues with dogs at all ~ I just don’t tend to interact much. There is not much to worry about in my personality as I’m lovely in every way and ‘chill’ is my middle name. I am not a big barker. You can touch me anywhere and I am actually a superstar on the leash. I really look forward to my daily walks. The only baggage I have is a thing you call heartworm. The doc says it’s 100% curable and not contagious but it is around a three-month process during which time I have to remain relatively calm. And, there will be a number of trips to the vet required. I am so sorry you have to do this for me ~ I don’t like being troublesome. It won’t be too hard to keep me quiet during this time as ‘chill’ is totally in my vocabulary. Well, that’s about it for me. I have enclosed a pic so you can see what I look like. My foster dad says I probably got my name from Hugo Boss as I am stylish, handsome, and laid-back. Ah shucks!

Hugo is currently being fostered in the Keswick, ON area.  If you would like more information about Hugo please call our hot-line toll-free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
