Hi everyone…my name is Lacey and I’m around 8 years old. When I first met the lovely people at GR, I was depressed, inactive, and despondent. My amazing foster family took me to the doc to see what was going on and it turned out I have a thing called arthritis and it was causing me pain. The doc put me on this medication and miraculously the pain went away…I couldn’t believe the difference. It was like entering a new world. Now I prance to the door at walk time. I get all excited at mealtime and I pretty much melt for belly-rub. Now, I’m not an active girl. Two 20-minute walks a day are really all I need. BTW, I’m a superstar on the leash. The thinking is that I had a tick-borne disease, which has been treated and the doc says my energy level will now start to increase. Actually, I’m fine with the energy I have. Life is good and I’m one loveable, laid-back girl. There’s nothing wrong with that in my eyes, right? I love all people, all dogs, and even cats are fine with me. I am not a big barker. You can certainly touch me anywhere and I love, love, love belly-rubs. I don’t like loud noises but I don’t freak either and you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Lacey is an intelligent, gentle, kind, trusting, loveable girl with a very calm temperament who loves being made a fuss over.” Thanks for those lovely words and I sure do love you making a fuss over me. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for me!
