Hi everyone…my name is Murphy and I’m 2.5 years old. Before I met the good people at GR, I was knocked around a bit and had a few owners. The last one left me at the vet’s office because I had a big growth that had to be removed. Fortunately, GR was called and they looked after it and took me into their program. I found out that the growth was what you call ‘non-cancerous’. Woohoo! In fact, the doc now describes me as one big healthy Golden. Because of my previous life, I am left with a bit of fear around abandonment but I recognize love and good, caring people quickly so when I met my amazing foster family, I knew I was safe. I love, love, love other dogs and GR feels I MUST be with a family who has at least one other dog for me to play with and I agree. I also love splashing around in the water. I’m not a swimmer (yet)…I just like paddling around near shore watching my canine siblings play chase the stick. I am gentle with my treats. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. Loud noises don’t bother me and I’m pretty good on the leash except at the beginning because I get so excited I pull but I settle down quickly. My foster mom says: “Murphy is a big goofball who is a loveable klutz. I fell in love with him five minutes after I met him.” Me too, mom. Me too!
