Hi everybody…my name is Chief and I’m a 2-year-old pup. Yes, I am still a pup in many ways but of course that’s what makes me so loveable. My amazing foster mom sometimes calls me ‘grumpy pants’, which I think is totally unfair. It is mainly because I get nervous when I meet new people or new dogs. I can be a little growly but that is because I get afraid in new situations. I recover quickly once I know I am safe, but initially I can be a little cautious. Now, this is improving all the time. For example, I get along beautifully with my foster sister Tully, so all I really need is more socializing with other dogs and I will be fine. This initial fear is my only foible. Other than that, I can be called the Chief Goofball Officer. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. I can be left alone if you have to go out without me and the doc says I’m a healthy boy. Here’s how my foster dad describes me: “Chief is a happy, goofy, smart boy who is very sweet and affectionate and always has a big smile for you. He will make someone an excellent companion.” Might you be my companion? I will be your Chief BFF, okay?
