Boy, I just love that song…when that song comes on, I get totally distracted. You might have figured out by now that my name is Duke. I am 2 years old. When I first came into the GR program, I was pretty sad and not very good with my commands. With the help of my amazing foster family, I brightened up almost right away because I realized they loved me and only wanted the best for me. It also didn’t take me long to brush up on my commands because I so wanted to please. I even improved on the leash with a thing called a ‘gentle leader’. I am now a very happy, energetic boy who loves humans and canines alike but I can be a little jealous of children so it would be best not to have young children initially. I’m also not likely to be good with cats. I love my walks, playing, running in the backyard and I particularly love being made a fuss over. I like to be petted (who doesn’t?) and if there is any area I don’t like, don’t worry, I’ll let you know with a tiny playful growl. I am gentle with my treats most of the time but if I forget, the word ‘gentle’ reminds me right away. Loud noises don’t bother me. I’m not a big barker and the doc says I’m a healthy boy. I have lots of energy so an active family with a big backyard would be ideal for me. Here’s what my foster mom
says about me: ”Duke is one big ball of love who will grab your heart immediately and stay there forever. It will be a privilege for anyone to adopt him.” Wow…thanks for that great endorsement (big word, eh?).
