Hi everyone my name is Macy and this is my little brother Tucker. I am 4 and Tucker is 2. When we first came into the GR program, we were quite a mess. We were scruffy, smelly, dirty, scabby, overweight, and generally out of shape. Our amazing foster family went to work immediately and got us bathed, groomed, vet checked…and boy, what a difference! We were also put on a diet right away and we both started to feel better almost instantly. We had never felt such care and love before and we both responded beautifully. We are what you humans call a ‘bonded pair’, which means we need to be adopted together. We love each other so much. We are play maniacs and just love play wrestling together. Our play can be quite boisterous so GR feels there shouldn’t be any young children in the
home, at least for now. We have settled in very well and our nervousness and timidity are pretty much gone.
We grew up with cats so we’re ‘fine with felines’ (nice alliteration, right?) but we basically ignore those critters. We are also okay with other dogs although we enjoy each other’s company the best. We love all humans now that we understand they only want the best for us. We are both pretty good on the leash unless we see a critter or get distracted, then we pull pretty hard so a little leash training would be great. I am not a big barker but Tucker barks more but mainly when someone comes to the door. We are gentle with our treats and you can certainly touch us anywhere. You can leave us alone as long as we’re together although recently Tucker has been showing signs of separation anxiety and he destroyed a blanket when we were left alone. So, it might be good if we could find a family where someone is home most of the time…at least until we get Tucker under control. We are both quite active…Tucker more than me because of course he’s younger so an active family would be great. We both love the car so we’re ready to go wherever you go. Well, that’s our story and we are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives.
