Hi everybody. My name is Fiona and I’m 2 years old. I absolutely love everyone at GR, especially my amazing foster family. When I first was lucky enough to get into the GR program, I have to admit I was quite a mess. My teeth were grungy and covered in plaque. My coat was very shabby. I was terrified of everything, especially the car. I had no idea what a leash was and I wasn’t potty trained. Even I have to admit I was pretty pathetic. The GR people, however, didn’t care about all that and immediately went to work to make me feel comfortable, loved, and safe. My teeth and my fur were their first challenge and boy did they succeed. Look at my photo…not bad, eh? It didn’t take me long to get used to the car. I now love it. I am also potty trained and getting the hang of the leash. I love people and other dogs. In fact, I’m a total love bug. Personally, I believe it’s because I’m soooo grateful to everyone for rescuing me and showing me such love and kindness. I still don’t like loud noises ~ busy noisy streets and loud voices make me nervous so I would really like a home outside of the big city. I am gentle with my treats. You can certainly touch me anywhere. I hardly ever bark and I’m learning that being left alone is okay. So far, I’ve been fine for an hour or two. Now that my teeth and coat have been addressed, the doc says I’m a healthy girl. Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Fiona is a wonderful girl who is eager to be your best friend and loving companion. She has been a delight to have in our home”. To quote what that other Fiona from Shrek said, “I want what any princess wants ~ to live happily ever after”. Luckily, I’m already well on the way!
