  • A puppy full of energy & the joys of life
  • Still needs some training (no small children please)
  • An active family with a fenced yard ideal
  • Is great with other dogs (but not with cats)

Hi everyone…my name is Toby and I’m an 8-month-old pup. When I first arrived in the arms of the GR folks, I had a number of issues. I guarded my food and toys. I was a disaster on the leash and I jumped up all the time. With the help of my amazing foster family, I started to work on all these foibles and I’m pretty proud to say I am much improved. I no longer have guarding issues. I now get that leash thing ~ I’m not great but you can certainly take me for a walk relatively easily. I still jump up when I get excited but I don’t do it nearly as often. I am a pup after all, so I still need some patience and training and my enthusiasm for life can sometimes make me forget my manners. But worry not, I am smart and I’ve come a long way. You can certainly touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me and the doc says I’m a healthy boy. I have tons of energy so an active family and a fenced yard would be ideal. A fenced yard is important as I have a high prey drive. I chase squirrels and bunnies so cats would not be safe around me. I love people and other dogs so I am very sociable. I also love chasing leaves, so fall is my favourite time of year. Mind you, I haven’t experienced a winter yet and I hear from my pals that I’m going to love it! I am a happy, loving, grateful boy whose lust for life is obvious. Could I meet you soon and show you my enthusiasm? I am the one in the backyard chasing leaves.
