Hi everybody, my name is Kellie and I’m 3 years old. I have come a long way since I met the good people at Golden Rescue. Firstly, they transported me and 24 other goldens all the way from Manitoba to Ontario. So that’s a long way, right? Secondly, when I arrived, I was frightened, nervous, timid and filthy. I would cower in the corner, was afraid of doors and stairs and wouldn’t eat my food. With the help of my amazing foster family, I started to feel safe. Once I realized how wonderful everyone was and how loving and caring my new family was, I started to settle and get comfortable. I still get nervous in new situations, but I am so much more confident now. I am one grateful, happy, girl. I am learning all your human ways. I know my name. I’m getting pretty good on the leash. I can maneuver the stairs now and I can eat my food, no problem. I am gentle with my treats. If I know you, you can touch me anywhere. I don’t like loud traffic noises when I’m outside but inside I’m fine with loud noises. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. I’m not a big barker and the doc says I’m a healthy girl. Once I get to know you, I will love you and I love other dogs and even cats are fine with me. I’m not a big fan of the car but I’m working on that. See, haven’t I come a long way? Of course, I am still learning, and you would need to be a little patient with me ‘til I figure out all the other things you’d like me to do. Here’s what my foster mum says about me: “Kellie is a loving well behaved golden. For a golden who has had little human love she is doing remarkably well. She is going to be a perfect dog.” WOW!!!
