Hi everyone, my name is Charlie and I’m a 9-year-old boy. I had to stipulate that I’m a boy as the name ‘Charlie’ these days could be a female name too. When I first met the wonderful people at GR, I was overweight, had ear infections, and was kind of bumpy-lumpy. Now? I am on a strict diet. My ear infection is gone as are the lumps. The doc took them off me and checked them out ~ she said they were ‘benign’, which is a good thing I‘m told. I guess you could call me a senior statesman. Yes, I have been around the block a few times, which means I really understand your ways. In fact, I know all the stuff you expect from a dog, so you don’t have to worry about teaching me anything. I am very laid-back and calm and just love being outside, hanging out while watching the world go by. About the only thing I get excited about are squirrels. Those critters certainly get my full attention. Other than that, I am not a big barker, loud noises don’t bother me, you can touch me anywhere, you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me, and I am very gentle with my treats. I am used to living a quiet life so it would be amazing if I could find a home that is as quiet and as laid back as I am. Here’s what my amazing foster mom says about me: “Charlie is an absolute gem. He will be a dream companion because he is so well-mannered and calm.“ Holy cow, that makes me sound really good. Well, I do try to please (ha-ha).
