Hi everybody ~ my name is Hobie and I’m a 6-year-old boy. Now, the only Hobie I know is a Hobie Cat…and I ain’t no cat! But I do like water so sailing ought to be fun! When the good people at GR took me in, I was pretty uneducated in the ways of the world and didn’t have proper house manners. In fact, I was kind of a klutz. With the help of my amazing foster family, I have learned a lot. I certainly know my name so my recall is getting pretty good. I know how to behave in the house and generally I’m a good boy. I love people and most other dogs. There are a few dogs I don’t like, but hey, you humans don’t like everyone either, right? The doc has been treating me for something; however, my treatment is almost over and he says I will be fine. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. You can touch me anywhere. I don’t like loud surprising noises but I recover quickly so it’s not a big deal. I am gentle with my treats and no longer have guarding issues with my prized possessions with humans, but if a dog tries to take my stuff, I don’t like that. I am learning the leash thingy but that is still a work-in-progress. Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Hobie is a goofy boy whose smile would win over anybody. Continued patience and consistency with his training will make him a perfect loving companion.” Thank you for that and don’t worry…I am a good listener and only want to please.
