Hi everybody…my name is Buddy and I’m 12 years old. Now believe me, I’m not complaining because the wonderful people at GR have been so good to me; however, prior to meeting them, I was abandoned in Northern Quebec and left outside in frigid temperatures. When I was rescued by a kind nurse who found me (thank you, thank you, thank you), it was -38 outside and I was emaciated, exhausted, and almost shut down. I had some untreated injuries (broken ribs and jaw) that healed on their own, thank goodness, and now I find myself in the lap of luxury with an amazing foster family. I am one lucky boy! Let me tell you a bit about myself. First of all, I am putting weight back on so I’m starting to look like my old self again. My injuries are healed and the doc says I’m pretty good considering my age and previous circumstances. I know I have met some not nice people along the way but I actually love all you humans because I can see how kind you can be. I also love other dogs and even cats are fine with me. I actually love everyone and everything because I feel so grateful to have been given another chance at happiness. I’m not great on the leash thing and my commands aren’t too good although I do respond pretty well to a whistle and hand signals. Don’t worry too much about all of that because I just want to be close to you anyway so whatever you want me to do, I’ll figure it out. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me (after all I was used to being alone). Loud noises don’t bother and I’m not a big barker. Every day my life is getting better! Now I’m told I might be able to spend the rest of my golden years with a loving forever family. That expression ‘lucky dog’ was made for me!
